Entering therapy can be an important step for people who are struggling with issues in their lives and relationships. With over 35 years of clinical experience doing individual and couple work, I have a great appreciation for the importance of deep and meaningful relationships with oneself and with one’s partner. My work supports people in finding the hidden and lost parts of themselves, developing greater intimacy in their relationships and learning skills and techniques to change their lives. I help people focus on immediate concerns and/or deeper underlying issues.
For couples overwhelmed by the experience of sex addiction, therapy can be vital to the health of their relationship. In my practice I work with couples who are in recovery sorting out such issues as maintaining sobriety, establishing boundaries, managing emotional upheaval and handling fears for the future. I work closely with C-SATs providing the work for couples that is an important part of recovery. My experience as a Diplomate Certified Sex Therapist has given me the background to address critical relationship and sexual issues. My approach includes family systems, behavioral therapy, humanistic psychology and psychodynamic therapy.
My areas of specialty include: intimacy and relationship issues, couples in recovery from sex addiction, women’s pelvic pain and sexual dysfunctions. In addition to my private practice, I am an adjunct faculty member at William James College in Newton, Massachusetts where I teach courses in intimacy and sexuality and couples therapy.
